My practice is based in my own peaceful, private room at The Ambry Clinic, in the Lanes area of central Norwich.
I trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust in London and then the Norwich Centre, and have over a decade of experience working one-to-one in a variety of settings in both London and Norwich, including Islington Mind, Core Arts Hackney, Cruse Bereavement Support, The Wherry School and 4Cs.
I see therapy as offering an opportunity to know yourself more fully. And the hope is that this greater understanding of your feelings, patterns, conflicts, values, needs, and ways of relating to others, can enable greater freedom. You become less driven by unconscious habits or external expectations and more able to choose how to live in a way that feels authentic, and with a stronger sense of confidence, contentment and direction.

ABOUT MY WORK
My work is grounded in person-centred and psychodynamic ideas. Which, very broadly, is to say that I see therapy as a collaborative process in which we seek to understand what feels meaningful from your own unique point-of-view, as well as looking at the underlying patterns and past influences that have led you to be where and who you are today. The work is responsive and explorative, rather than directive or diagnostic.
I work in an open and transparent way, sharing my thoughts and responding to any questions you may have about our work together. And by doing so, I aim to create an environment where you feel able to be honest with both yourself and me, and I will be honest with you in return.
Starting therapy can be daunting, and whatever it is that you wish to talk about, we would explore at your own pace.
Sessions are confidential and last for an hour. The cost is £65.

SPECIALISMS
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, loss, relationship difficulties, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work and everyday life. You may also be seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, wanting to explore recurring patterns, navigate change, or find a greater sense of meaning, direction, and connection.
I particularly welcome working with people exploring questions around neurodiversity, spirituality, creativity, and/or depression. These are areas that are personally meaningful to me, as well as areas where I believe a person-centred therapeutic approach is particularly well-suited.
Although the reasons people seek therapy can appear very different, I have found that the work often involves developing a deeper understanding of who you are beneath the roles, expectations, and messages you have absorbed throughout your life. Through this process, it can become easier to recognise what is genuinely important to you and to find ways of living that feel more aligned with your own sense of self. How this looks in practice, however, can differ enormously between different people.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What happens in the first session?
We will explore what brings you to therapy as well as your hopes for sessions, as well as any concerns or questions you might have about the process. The general aim is for both of us to try to get a sense of whether there’s a good match between what you want and what I can offer.
We can then explore how we might continue, if that’s what you decide you would want.
How long does therapy take?
Appointments are 60 minutes. The number of sessions will always be lead by you. There is no fixed number of sessions that is right for everyone. Some people choose to work together over a longer period, while others find that only a small number of sessions is enough.
At our first meeting, we can discuss what you hope to gain from counselling and agree on an approach that feels appropriate. As our work progresses, we will review how things are going and consider whether your needs have changed. You are under no obligation to continue and may choose to finish whenever you feel the time is right.
How much does it cost?
Sessions last for a full hour and cost £65.
Do you work online?
I prefer to meet face-to-face in my therapy room. I have set up the room to be as comfortable and as private as possible and, for me, nothing can quite capture the unique experience of being in the same room as another person, week after week.
However, I do offer the opportunity to meet online if that means therapy is accessible to anyone who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend in person.
Are sessions confidential?
Privacy is an essential part of the counselling relationship, and what you share with me will remain confidential, with a small number of exceptions.
To help maintain a reflective and ethical practice, I meet regularly with a qualified clinical supervisor. Supervision is a part of the work of any professional therapist and provides an opportunity to reflect on my work. If I refer to our sessions, I do so without revealing information that could identify you.
There are rare occasions when confidentiality can’t be guaranteed. This might happen if there are serious concerns about your safety or the safety of someone else, or if I have a legal obligation to disclose information. If this situation were to arise, I would aim to speak with you about it first and explain any steps I needed to take.
Who do you work with?
I can see anyone over the age of 18 and based in the UK.
Before agreeing to work together we would both try to figure out if there is good match between what you would like and what I am able to offer. If, during that process, we realise that your needs might be better met elsewhere, I will do my best to suggest someone more appropriate for you.
